Beyond Disability Supports team member

Our local provider shoutouts are all about sharing the stories, goals and services of NDIS providers out there in the community. Helping participants and families find new supports and services close to them or wherever vital services are needed.

In this edition we speak with the team from Beyond Disability Support!

Hi team, tell us a bit about Beyond Disability Support.

Beyond Disability Supports (BDS) is a faith-based, NDIS-registered provider based on the Central Coast of NSW. We are a passionate and dedicated team committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred supports that empower people living with disability to achieve their goals and live meaningful lives.

Our team includes support workers, support coordinators, administration professionals, and leadership staff who share a commitment to compassion, integrity, dignity, and excellence in care.

What sort of services do you offer?

We provide a wide range of NDIS-funded supports, including:

  • Daily Personal Activities and Personal Care
  • Community Access and Participation
  • Group and Centre-Based Activities
  • Household Tasks and Domestic Assistance
  • Short-Term Accommodation and Respite Services
  • Capacity Building Supports
  • Support Coordination

All services are tailored to the individual goals, needs, preferences, and circumstances of each participant.

Why do people come to you for help?

People choose Beyond Disability Supports because they are looking for more than just a service provider. They want a team that genuinely cares, listens, advocates, and walks alongside them through their NDIS journey.

We are known for our faith-based support, responsive communication, consistency of support, strong relationships with participants and families, and our commitment to ethical, values-driven care.

What’s the goal or overall aspiration you have for your customers?

Our aspiration is to empower people to live fulfilled, purposeful, and independent lives while remaining connected to their communities. We aim to help each participant build confidence, increase choice and control, achieve their personal goals, and experience a greater sense of wellbeing and belonging.

Our vision is to grow without losing our ability to genuinely connect with and care for every participant we support.

How important is a tailored approach in your work?

A tailored approach is at the heart of everything we do. Every participant has unique goals, strengths, preferences, cultural backgrounds, and support needs. Rather than applying a one-size-fits-all model, we take the time to understand each individual’s circumstances and develop personalised supports that reflect what matters most to them. This person-centred approach enables better outcomes and stronger relationships.

What’s something that people should know about your services that most people don’t know?

Many people are surprised to learn how involved we become in advocating for participants and supporting families through complex situations. While we deliver day-to-day supports, we also work collaboratively with families, allied health professionals, support networks, and community services to help participants access the right opportunities and achieve the best possible outcomes.

Our Christian values inspire how we serve, but our supports are inclusive and available to people of all backgrounds, cultures, and beliefs.

What advice would you have for someone wanting more information?

Don’t be afraid to ask questions. Choosing a disability service provider is an important decision, and it’s essential to find a provider that listens, understands your goals, and respects your choices.

We encourage people to contact us for a no-obligation conversation so we can understand their needs, explain their options, and explore how we may be able to support them.
